Get to know closely one of the cities named Cultural Patrimony of Humanity, stroll among its mysterious and beautiful churches, taste its gastronomy and fall in love with “La Carita de Dios”.
Depending on the location of the lodging place we will be observing the different tourist attractions located in the route to arrive at the historical center where we will realize a short walk in which it will be possible to be observed: the Independence Square and the buildings that surround it, Church of the Tabernacle, Church of the Company of Jesus (visit) and San Francisco church. Then we climb to the hill of Panecillo where the statue of the Virgin of Quito is (visit the museum and lookout), this is the best opportunity to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the city (north, center and south).
At midday we will head north of the city to visit the Middle of the World Complex or the IntiÑan Site Museum.
The tourist can choose to visit the Middle of the World Complex or the IntiÑan Museum. In the Middle of the World City Complex you will be able to visit the monument of the Middle of the World in whose interior is the ethnographic museum, also you will be able to observe a representation of a colonial city.
In the IntiÑan Museum you can observe permanent exhibitions of Amazonian cultures, as well as experiments that prove the location of the Museum right on the equator. It is an interactive museum that gives visitors the opportunity to experience and check the real position of the Equator Line. In this museum you can obtain a certificate indicating that I visit the Middle of the World if I manage to stop an egg at the head of a nail. After the visit we return to the city to go to the lodging place.
